Four Seasons Garden Club

Meets 9:30am – 12pm, the second Thursday of each month, September – May

For Lake Highlands ladies of all ages who share the love of flowers and gardening! The club was federated in 1971 and currently enjoys an average of 25 members who rotate inviting us into their homes for meetings. Programs highlight experts in both the horticulture and floral design fields.

Perhaps the most anticipated program is a club-hosted, in-home flower show every two years where members create fresh flower arrangements and enter their personal horticulture specimens for competition.

Beautification projects have included:

  • Creation of the Jeff Cain Memorial Garden at Forest Meadow Jr. High
  • Red and white geraniums for 9 beds at Lake Highlands High for the “Blue Ribbon” nomination site visit
  • Beautification contributions to Lake Highlands area schools
  • Contributions to various Lake Highlands beautification projects

We invite you to be our guest or become a member of the Four Seasons Garden Club.

Monday Morning Book Review Club

Meets at 9:30am the third Monday of each month, September – May

To all our Town Creek, Forest Meadow, and Oak Trail Villas neighbors:  Let’s get to know one another, have some fun, be entertained by an author, and discuss other interesting topics! Non-members are invited to join us Monday, May 20th for our last meeting of the 2018-19 year. The program will feature installation of officers for the next year and will be an excellent opportunity to meet most of our current members.

Since 1977 the Monday Morning Review Club has been an enjoyable neighborhood meet-and-greet venue. We meet in a nearby church at 9:30am and brunch is served. I hope you will call me for complete details whether for a one-time visit or if interested in joining the club.      – Carolyn Robb, 214-341-7983.

Town Creek Women’s Club

Meets the second Tuesday of each month, September – May

The Town Creek Women’s Club was established in 1975 to encourage fellowship and to nurture and promote friendship with our neighborhood and community. Although we are considered “Town Creek,” long time members who may have moved outside our immediate neighborhood have remained members.

We meet the second Tuesday of every month from September to May at 9:30 a.m., usually in the home of one of our members. On some occasions, we meet in local restaurants. Our meetings include a short business meeting to discuss upcoming events, community activities and socials. Following the business meeting, a speaker presents a program of interest. Our programs are always fun, informative and entertaining, running the gamut from Dave Lieber to wildlife, from technology education to antiquing.

We are a social club with community spirit and our community service committee selects a project each year. As examples, one year the Club planted three evergreens on the Skyview Elementary campus. Most recently, the club donated bird feeders and bird food to the Skyview Harmony Garden (for details see “Skyview Happenings” in this issue).

We also sponsor the Town Creek Annual Holiday Decorating Contest. Other social events, which may also include spouses, give members an opportunity to experience new restaurants in our community, stage shows, and other venues – always something unique. In the past we have had progressive dinners (visiting trendy restaurants), Mardi Gras parties, casino nights, mystery dinner theaters and so many more. We always have a great time.

We thoroughly enjoy the camaraderie and friendship of our members. We are currently in the process of renewing memberships for 2019-20 (annual membership dues of $50). If you have an interest in joining, you are welcome to attend as a guest before making that decision. We embrace new members and welcome your interest.
